Driver updates support optimal computer hardware function, performance, and new and critical features. Dell fully and partially manages driver updates for hundreds of millions of devices. Failure to update drivers can cause security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and other issues. In this paper, we present a service capability at Dell that leverages telemetry data from a vast number of connected devices, and Bayesian machine learning to proactively predict, prevent, and root-cause driver update failures to address security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks and enhance overall user experience.
